What's the best forum software?
I've used sooo many forum software and in my opinion the winner is MyBB... =]
It's the best...free one.
The best paid forum software has to be IPB.
It's ironic because i'm using vbulletin. But it's alright.

Im personally a fan of IPB, so much that i even have two board licenses and one for the blog addon. Though vB does look good i spent a lot of time with IPB since <2.1.7 and know it like the back of my hand.

I started with ipb and afterwards phpbb but there was a time everyone liked vbulletin and now it's changing again to ipb
I'll just keep on using vbulletin since I have a license now

ho ho!!
IPB is sexy, nice n kewl, but am kinda addicted to vb.

Either VBulletin, or ZetaBoards.

This is my two cents worth:
I feel that Invision Power Board 3 provides everything that I need when I am managing a forum. Whereas other hosts don't. Personally, I've never used vBulletin 4, but the things that I'm hearing about it, it makes me not want to even consider purchasing it.
Therefore, IPB3 takes the win.

I personally prefer IPB because of the style but apparently v bulletin has more features than any other forum software. Because most of the time they listen of their clients suggestion.
