Using Torrents to Get Traffic to Your Media/Entertainment-related Site
One way that some veteran Internet marketers are able to quickly and effectively build both their backlinks and their type-in traffic is by contributing to torrent communities. By using just a few tricks, you can prevent yourself from being banned on the torrent site, but also bring yourself some good traffic. Here are the steps, with the assumption that you own a movie site named Movies.com and are making a torrent for "Saw VI" since at the time of writing this article it is a very in-demand movie (though this method can be applied to any media you choose):
1. First, register with the popular public torrent sites out there. These include PirateBay, Mininova, isoHunt, and Torrentz, among others.
2. Since you're promoting the movie "Saw VI," your first step is actually finding the movie online someplace. An easy way to do this that I found is to just do a google search for "[movie name] megavideo" or "[movie name] zshare" -- this will bring up results where people have already found or uploaded the movie to megavideo or zshare, so you can just go to the site and download it from there (if you don't know how to download videos from MV/zS just say so in the comments and I'll make an article about tools to use in that scenario)
3. While the movie is downloading, create a file called "readme.txt" and put it in the folder where you're downloading the movie to. In the readme.txt, write a little blurb/plug about your site. For example, say something like:"Thanks for downloading Saw VI, hope you enjoy it! We at Movies.com go through a lot of trouble to find you the best and latest 0-day movies, so if you wanna come check out what else we've got head over to our site, Movies.com. No registration required and it's free!" Save this file.
4. When the movie is finished, put it and the readme.txt into a folder of their own, and use a torrent creator (instructions on how to do that here) to make a .torrent file to upload.
5. For the title of the torrent, make it something like "Saw VI - [quality] - Movies.com" -- you're helping build brand recognition already!
6. Add the tracker address of the various torrent sites you're submitting to to the torrent, and upload the torrent to the sites. In the description section of the torrent upload, be careful what you put, as some places don't allow hotlinking or discussing other sites. However, if your torrent site does allow it, be sure to throw in a link to your website with another commend about how many awesome movies you have.
Try this on a few movies at first, and when you've seen some amount of success, consider expanding your efforts to smaller torrent sites with fewer members. When you've successfully uploaded many of these files and people leave good comments, you're going to see your site being hit by a good few people who otherwise wouldn't have known about it!
BONUS TIP: You could also consider using watermarking software to put your site's URL on the video, either throughout the entirety of the movie or just through a few moments of it randomly. Be careful doing this, though, as it disrupts the viewer's experience and they may report your torrent as spam. If you do it discreetly and kindly, though, perhaps during the opening credits, it can serve to help you gain even more traffic, especially if someone uploads your movie to their own site or shares it with their friends in forums without crediting you first.

Yeah I love the watermarking idea in the beginning. Thanks tippie for the tips
I appreciate it. And another plus is that there are torrent indexers out there too like torrentz.com
